Embracing Vintage Style

Goodwood is the only historic motor-racing event to be staged entirely in a period theme from the 1940’s to 1960’s, creating an atmosphere that truly takes you back in time, there’s even daily ‘best dressed’ fashion shows! So, without further ado, let’s dive into some key fashion trends that not only rocked back then, but continue to rock even today.

1940 Trends

First up, we have the timeless elegance of the 1940s. Think sophisticated tea dresses, A-line skirts often paired with blouses or sweaters, tailored suits, and classic accessories. They styled their hair with victory rolls or pin-up curls. This era exudes a sense of refinement and grace that never goes out of style. So, if you want to channel your inner vintage diva, the 1940s fashion is the way to go!

Men’s fashion was influenced by the ongoing World War II and the need for practicality, so suits with wide shoulders, a fitted waist and straight-legged trousers were typically warn. Double-breasted suits were popular as well.

This era was about embracing femininity and celebrating curves. So, ladies, don’t be afraid to rock those polka dots, floral patterns, and vibrant colours. The 1950s fashion is all about fun and flirty vibes!

1960 Trends
